Welcome to Inkwell!

Inkwell. The name came to me in a dream, although many other ideas were seized upon and then cast aside before I finally decided to trust that my unconscious knew what it was doing. 

Putting the company together has been a labour of love for the last six months, and I am incredibly proud of what I am launching today. Whoever you are, over the coming months and years I hope we will get to know each other really well, as colleagues, suppliers, customers, and more.

In this series of blog articles I will share day-today updates and insights from the business, as well as looking back in detail about how I transformed my editing sole tradership into a global communications agency.

Here in the Thinkwell, you will find regular articles from our team and our valued contributors on all aspects of research communication. We will also soon be introducing a weekly podcast to explore the latest in think tank output.

But first thing’s first, and above all I want to introduce you to our company values. Taking the advice of many a business how-to book, they were the very first thing I thought about and wrote down when building this as-yet unnamed business.

  • We practise what we preach, communicating with clients and each other in clear language without relying on jargon or buzzwords to get our message across.

These values quickly became the backbone of our nascent company and guided every decision we made. Our values are more than just the paper they’re written on. We live and breathe them and they have a real-life impact on how we work. They keep us on track and make sure we are a really great company to work for and do business with. 

Our vision swiftly followed:

To provide communications support to the non-profit sector, designing and delivering communication strategies with a unified editorial voice and visual brand identity.
